Humble Beginnings

Haji Ghalib embarked on a transformative journey from his hometown, Gujar Khan, Pakistan, with the aspiration of securing an improved quality of life for his family. Initially arriving in the north of England, he eventually found his new home in Birmingham.

First Business Venture

With the shortage of halal meat in the city, Haji Ghalib took initiative and began to source chickens from nearby rural farms. He ensured that they undergo the proper Islamic slaughter ritual and then began to distribute this halal meat to the local community.

Alamgeer Food Store

Haji Ghalib’s son, Haji Auraungzeb, eventually established the ‘Alamgeer Food Store’ in Small Heath, Birmingham. The family started to produce and sell a traditional spice blend used as curry masala known as Bassar, marking the inception of a remarkable journey.

1997

Alamgeer Foods Limited

The family began to import spices and other items from Pakistan, eventually moving their stock to a warehouse in Walsall and soon becoming ‘Alamgeer Foods Limited’. At this time, we established ourselves as a full-fledged wholesale supplier of imported goods and went on to diversify our lines of products.
